Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about partnering with Varia Concept — the buying group for independent kitchen studios in Southeast Europe. And if your question isn't answered here, the free first conversation is the fastest way to get it answered.

Basics

What is Varia Concept?

Varia Concept is a buying group for independent kitchen studios in Southeast Europe. More than 100 independent partner studios in eight countries use it to access exclusive purchasing conditions with German premium brands, backed by 23 years of experience in the region. Varia Concept is part of DER KREIS, Europe's largest specialist association for kitchens — so independent studios get the purchasing power of a large group while staying fully independent.

Is Varia Concept a franchise?

No. Varia Concept is a buying group, not a franchise. Unlike a franchise, you do not trade under someone else's brand, you pay no share of your revenue, and nobody dictates how you run your business. You keep your own name, your own studio and your own customers — Varia Concept works behind the scenes, giving you group purchasing power and professional support.

Do I keep my own name and my independence?

Yes, completely. As a Varia Concept partner you keep your own studio name, your own customer relationships and full entrepreneurial independence. You remain the owner and decision-maker in your business; the partnership adds purchasing conditions, tools and support without taking anything away from you.

Who is Varia Concept for?

Varia Concept is for two groups. First, existing independent kitchen studios in Southeast Europe that want stronger purchasing conditions and professional support without giving up their name or independence. Second, founders who want to open their own kitchen studio: they receive support along the entire path, from location analysis all the way to opening day.

Costs & conditions

What does membership cost?

Varia Concept membership starts from 1,000 € per year. Varia takes 0 % of your revenue — there is no revenue share and no hidden percentage on your sales. All further conditions are laid out transparently in a personal, non-binding first conversation, so you know exactly what you are signing up for before you decide.

What do I get for my membership?

The number one benefit is exclusive purchasing conditions with German premium brands such as Nobilia, Häcker, Schüller, Miele, Bosch, Siemens, BORA and Liebherr — more than 35 system suppliers in total, backed by the purchasing power of DER KREIS. On top of that, partners get planning tools, business analysis, showroom design, logistics and marketing support, congresses and workshops in the region, and manufacturer visits in Germany.

Are there hidden obligations?

No. The model is deliberately simple: an annual membership fee and no share of your revenue. Everything else — conditions, mutual expectations and how the cooperation works in practice — is discussed openly in the free first conversation, so you can decide with the full picture in front of you and no surprises afterwards.

Becoming a partner

How do I become a Varia Concept partner?

Becoming a partner follows a clear six-step path. It starts with a free, non-binding 30-minute first conversation — via Teams or in person — and ends with you operating as a Varia Concept partner; for founders, with the opening of your own studio. Every step in between is taken together with your local contact, so you always know where you stand and what comes next.

How long does it take to become a partner?

For a completely new studio, plan roughly six months from first contact to opening. Existing kitchen studios that join Varia Concept are typically much faster, because the location, showroom and team are already in place. The exact timeline for your situation is discussed in the first conversation.

What happens in the first conversation?

The first conversation takes about 30 minutes, is free of charge and completely non-binding. It takes place via Microsoft Teams or in person — whichever you prefer. You talk through your situation and goals, get a transparent overview of conditions and member benefits, and can ask anything you want to know. There is no obligation to take any further step afterwards.

Region & contact

Which countries is Varia Concept active in?

Varia Concept is active in eight countries in Southeast Europe: Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Romania and Hungary. The group has been working in the region for 23 years and counts more than 100 independent partner studios.

Who is my local contact?

Your local contact is Primož Pratnekar, Area Manager Southeast Europe. He speaks Slovenian, Croatian, German and English, and you can reach him directly at +49 7152 6097-02. The CEO for Southeast Europe is Patrick Florea.

Is Varia Purion available in my country?

Varia Purion is Varia's own private-label kitchen brand — made in Germany and exclusively available to Varia partners. It is currently available in Slovenia and Croatia. If your studio is in another Varia Concept country, the personal first conversation is the best place to ask about current availability for your market.

Brands & suppliers

Which brands can I buy through Varia Concept?

Partners get exclusive purchasing conditions with German premium brands — for example Nobilia, Häcker and Schüller for kitchen furniture, and Miele, Bosch, Siemens, BORA and Liebherr for appliances. In total, more than 35 system suppliers are available, backed by the purchasing power of DER KREIS, Europe's largest specialist association for kitchens. This is the number one reason studios join.

What is DER KREIS?

DER KREIS is Europe's largest specialist association for kitchens, founded in 1979 in Leonberg, Germany. The group has 4,075 members across 21 European countries and a group turnover of 4.69 billion € (2025). Varia Concept is part of the DER KREIS Systemverbund and brings this collective purchasing power to independent kitchen studios in Southeast Europe.

Founders

Can I open a kitchen studio even if I have never owned one before?

Yes. Varia Concept supports founders along the entire path to their own kitchen studio — starting with location analysis, including the AI location radar on this website, through showroom design and access to more than 35 suppliers, all the way to the opening. For a new studio, plan roughly six months from first contact to opening — and your studio carries your own name, with full independence, from day one.
